5 Reasons to Partner with a Life Coach: Your Journey Begins Here

People often ask me, "What is a coach for?" But I pose a different question: What is a coach NOT for? Life's pace keeps changing and evolving, sometimes at warp speed, leaving us feeling like we can't keep up. Other times, we find ourselves stuck, unable to move in the direction we desire. In either scenario, a life coach can help restore balance and peace to our lives. Here are five reasons people choose to work with a coach, though the list is as varied as our personalities.

  1. Feeling Stuck: Life can start to feel dull, or we may lack the drive to pursue the things we once enjoyed. Change, while scary, can also be exciting.  What changes do you desire in your life?

  2. Feeling Invisible or Insignificant: Factors like age, retirement, changes in community, or jobs can shift how we perceive ourselves or how we feel seen or heard by others. When reading this, what emotions come up?

  3. Lost in the Shuffle as a Caregiver: Often, we become so busy caring for others—aging parents, sick friends or family members, children—that our own self-care takes a back seat. How well are you at taking care of YOUR physical, mental and emotional health?

  4. Grief: Grief, as defined by Alan Wolfelt PhD, encompasses our internal thoughts and feelings following a death or loss. It can stem from the loss of a loved one, a pet, or significant changes in our lives. When we love, we have losses. Do you allow yourself to mourn your losses?

  5. Clarity: At pivotal moments in life, decision-making can feel overwhelming, and the path forward may seem unclear. How do you want to cross thresholds in life?

By working together to set goals and providing accountability, clients find that the journey toward personal development, improved relationships, career changes, and overcoming challenges becomes clearer, more attainable, and ultimately, more rewarding.
